Ad agencies hire commercial talent directly

For TV commercials, radio spots and print campaigns, the art director and creative director at the advertising agency are often the people who actually choose the actor or commercial model. That makes them worth contacting directly rather than waiting for a casting call.

Local and small markets have real commercial work

hi I'm Aaron Marcus and if you happen to be watching this on my YouTube acting and modeling tips channel hey don't forget subscribe and also hit the notification button so you can automatically receive all the new videos that I that I post here really quickly if you're not familiar with me I've been a full-time actor and a commercial model for over 30 years I've looked over 1,200 jobs and perhaps you've seen some of my work I had a recurring role on house of cards worked on Gotham mr. robot halt and catch fire rectified done print ads for Acura Molson beer AT&T done tons of TV commercials and also have done feature films independent feature films I got cast in Philomena and fishbowl just to name a couple and let me tell you what I'd like to do here as you are either getting started trying to get acting a modeling work or maybe you've been in the industry for a while and you're trying to get some work a great way is to find advertising agencies and you might be thinking well why do I need an ad agency well because sometimes the art and creative director from the ad agency are the people who actually hire the actor for the TV commercial or radio spot or the commercial model for the print ad campaign so these are people you definitely want to get in touch with send them your information and if you certainly you can do a google search I mean that is an easy way of trying to find people but another really great way is an organization you might not be familiar with and it's the American Association of advertising agencies a AAA org visit their website find some members in your area and start submitting your information to the art and creative directors look there are thousands of great ad agencies who are not affiliated with American Association of advertising agencies but at least this will give you a a really good start and you will find some in your area I also just wanted to mention if you're interested in learning more about how to get work in your area I've got a great blog that I wrote just use the link below and you will read this great article where I teach you how to get work locally even in small markets so anyhow that's what I wanted to share with you today don't forget if you have some kind of comment if you have information that you want to share share it below or you can also post it on my facebook comm forward slash how to model page and if you need to reach out to me you can always get to me at how to act and model comm but the key thing is here you know I'm building a community of industry people who really are trying to help each other and share information with each other so please do so love to hear from you I'm Aaron Marcus and I can't wait to talk with you again soon see ya
